This is volume picks up the same story lines in the previous Silk. Cindy is trying to find clues on what happened to her family.
She is working undercover with Shield to get into Black Cat's trust and Shield is helping her try to find her family. We see the day to day of Cindy trying to find the balance between work, being Silk, having friends, and keeping her sanity while trying to juggle that and everything else that comes her way.
She was locked up for 10 years, so she is behind on everything. I love her quirkiness when she interacts with people. She's a bad-ass yet still naive in the world.
I love Cindy and can't wait to see where her journey takes her. I did not like the art in this book, some where great and some was just not my style. Looking at each issue we have different artists, so for the whole Graphic Novel, there was 3 different artists. Each artist has there different way to draw, which makes sense, but it also came off weird to have people, like Cindy, drawn a different way then before. When just a few pages ago, she and others were drawn one way.
The story was good, we see in this volume that they are building towards a bigger story line. Will Cindy find her parents or more clues to what happened to them? What's Black Cat planning? What will happen with her working for shield? She is green in the field as a shield operative, but I love that about Cindy. I want to see more interaction between Mockingbird and hopefully Spider-woman in future volumes.
Besides the art choices, I love Cindy and the story was good. I will read Volume 2
