You don't get much for free these days and, although this book isn't free, visiting the sites that it describes is. This guidebook gives clear, concise information, plus maps and photographs, of sites to visit in Cheshire, Cumbris amd Lancashire. Including such sites as Castlerigg Stone Circle, Ambleside Roman fort, Sawley Abbey and Glifton Hall, the sites range from prehistory through to the medieval period. The guide also includes short features on the industrial heritage.
