Paul the Peddler is a wonderful story of hard work, effort, honesty, and the American Dream. In this day and age, this is the type of book that we need to read, esp. if you have your own business, or want to one day.
The hero of the story, Paul the Peddler, is a kind of inspirational figure for the people who want to make it big through their hard work and dedication. Alger shows the life of someone starting from scratch, (something many people still do today without expecting it) and how he makes it big. Horatio Alger leaves no stone unturned in presenting every minute details of the struggles Paul goes through, and there are great business lessons besides the mindset of success.
