These four short-stories explore several male creative adults, largely from the viewpoint of their infant relationship with their mothers. All the men described were able to keep alive within themselves the magical heart of a child, whilst also enduring, but not always surviving the inevitable ash of melancholia from the loss of the original small boy who existed at birth.
