What happens when rooks try to take over the animal kingdom? The tranquil life of the animals living at The Common comes under threat as the rooks try to stage a takeover. They blame humans for the deaths of many animals and birds, when in reality it is the rook Gripper who has carried out the killings. The rooks try to offer protection to the animals in return for slavery. Some of the animals discover the truth and The Plan is hatched to escape and build a new life for them all away from the cruel and dominant rooks. With the help of the rabbits the animals build a tunnel which will take them away from the Common and the dominant rooks, to safety. Just as success looks certain, the rooks foil the escape. Will The Plan succeed, and how many lives will be sacrificed? Help comes from a most unlikely source, but can the animals trust the rescuers?
