Things to love about Click...
-Renee's friends. Mark is her best guy friend and the friend who joins her on her internet dating adventure. He is insanely anal, but a perfect foil for Renee and the other girls. Sherry is thoroughly over-sexed, bestowing all of her boy toys with hilarious nicknames. Ashley is completely judgemental, and a wee bit of a hypocrite, but somehow still reasonably likeable. They are all very different people, but they represent those people we all know and their interactions with each other were entirely realistic. I do wish there had been a bit more of Mark, though. I like him, but he was almost an aside to the story, despite that he was the impetus to Renee's online dating.
-The dates. Every possible "first date" stereotype is present, from the ego maniac to the downright creepy. Some of them creeped me out and I was just reading about them! As I read about Renee's dates, I caught myself frequently thinking "That sounds like my date with !"
-The story format. There wasn't a single bit of the story told outside of that format and, at first, I wondered if it would allow the entire story to be told, without feeling as if important things had happened that weren't being shared in the emails. But I loved the email format. Nothing was left out and it was a fun, hip way to tell the story.
-Shelley's boy toys. I found myself giggling out loud more than once, laughing at Shelley's irreverent descriptions of her "dates" and their subsequent nicknames. For most of the story, this was just a hilarious part of Shelley's tale. I had no idea just how important it would become to the story.
The only thing I wish was different was Mark and his story. He was a fun character, but he was almost an afterthought. I wish there had been more of him, and more of his story. All in all, a fantastically fun read that I recommend!
