In this era in which we find ourselves, some of the family units have become so fragmented by distance, lack of communication (which seems incredibly hard to believe since they are constantly on their cell phones) and the egocentric "me" syndrome, that we have lost the ability to respond to those closest to us. With the advent of the 24-hour news programs, the computer and the various I phones, the attention to those machines has taken away face to face conversation. What a tremendous loss. A loss of the multi generation wisdom to share with another generation who could benefit from that experience and knowledge, and stories from a past that is unfamiliar. It is like the story tellers of biblical times, where they told of past people and events and embellished and added their own slant to the recounting of that story. Every generation has had something worthy to impart from their experience and lucky is the person who is listening and taking heed of what they are hearing.
