Willard Straight was famous as a reporter and diplomat, but he was also a good artist and musician. His musical achievements are less well known, but he often performed these Four Kipling Songs at parties and gatherings with his friends. They are sensitive and musical settings of great poetry. He was a graduate of Cornell University and also one of its benefactors. This year, 2018 is the centenary of his death and it feels right that we should be enabling them to be heard once again.
