From Far Away Shores is the story of one man's journey from childhood in England to retirement in Nova Scotia. Read about his early childhood; the impact of a World War on his young mind; Grammar School and lonely teen years. National Service in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers opened a whole new world of electronics to him. Then he entered Cambridge University for higher education and graduation as an Engineer. Marriage and immigration to Canada began a new series of challenges as his family grew, matured and left home. Contributions as a foster-parent and church activities wove a foundation that prepared him for dealing with cancer in both himself and his wife, Judy, and later coping with her death. Meeting another companion brought fresh insights into spirituality, lifting his new marriage to one of deep fulfillment that created a new outlook on life and place in the world. In it he discovered that he had come home to a haven of peace and contentment, to his Eden, in Nova Scotia.
