Fast forward 25 years, give or take a few, and here I am, reviewing a book written by Kimmy Gibbler.
As I'm sure I've mentioned several times on my blog, I'm a huge sucker for celeb bios, even if I'm not all that familiar with the person's work. And, to be honest, I didn't have high expectations for this one. I figured it might be a nice, nostalgic read, and that maybe I would read a few behind-the-scenes bits about the filming of Full House, and that would be the end of it. So color me surprised when I found myself giving this four stars.
Andrea Barber is a surprisingly good writer, and I found myself not wanting to put this down.
It's not your typical celeb tell-all, so don't expect to find many salacious stories about Hollywood. Instead, she focuses on her struggle with anxiety, and how she handled working on Full House and then living her life after leaving the show.
Her honest and upfront discussion of her battle with anxiety was very relatable, and she gives good advice and tips for how to handle it.
Even though I enjoyed Full House as a kid, I still haven't watched the Netflix reboot, Fuller House, but after reading this, I'm a little more tempted to watch it.
I would highly recommend this book, especially if you were a fan of hers on Full House, or if you deal with anxiety and would like to feel a little less alone in your struggle.
