It is evident that with each passing year, under-5's are becoming active users of technology, whether that is at home or beyond. Education settings for very young children are also finding ways in which this technology can support learning and underpin their roles as education providers.
The South West Grid for Learning Early Years Toolkit provides early year and kindergarten settings with advice, policy and guidance to help implement effective practice for safeguarding around technology. It includes policies on e-safety; mobile phones;digital and video images and staff/volunteer use as well as providing templates for a whole range of issues that include digital image permission slips; acceptable use policies; managing incidents and recording evidence; learning journey trust statements and voluntary professional codes of conduct.
