It didn't happen slowly. It happened all at once, when I fell in love with this book. I saw the possibilities from the very beginning and thought Klein did a fantastic job telling this tale. I did grow quite frustrated with June and had to remind myself that there was some sort of baggage getting in the way. It was a pleasure watching her slowly change under Oliver's influence. Seeing her stretch her wings a little, trying new things, and finding that she sort of liked many of those things she had deemed unimportant. But the star of this book was the friendship between June and Oliver. I will concede that it had those When Harry Meet Sally vibes, and their car rides were everything for me.

Actual rating is 3.5 stars. It was cute, but there were two issues for me:

1) OMG June was judgemental. It was part of her character development, so I get that, but she could be super annoying. She had this mentality like, "Because you're a jock, you surely do x and y, but you suck at z. This is true just because you're a jock." Ugh.

2) The book just kind of fizzled for me a bit by the end. I wasn't really glued to it and I think I lost some of my investment.

Still a fun read though!
