This is my intro to Daisy Prescott. I actually wanted to read her books for a while, because Penny Reid recommended them (and I LOVE her books), and I have to say, I was not disappointed. This was an adorable romance, with lots of humor and heart. John is an island boy, who is nursing old heartbreak. He has a fortress around his heart, afraid that if he loves anyone, they will leave or be taken from him. Diane came to the island to escape her broken marriage. She is wounded and doubting herself as she finalizes her divorce. The two become friends, and as their friendship grows, their hearts begin to mend. This was a lot of fun to read. I loved "visiting" the Pacific Northwest, I loved the banter, and I laughed often. I cannot wait to read Tom's story next.
I enjoyed this story and love the small town feel to these stories.
Both the H and h had their own issues but were able to work them out together in a realistic way. There were some hot and steamy sexy bits with some sweet stuff as well.
I have enjoyed both books in this series and I will definitely be reading more from this author.
