Carla Accardi, considered by many to be one of Italy's most prodigious artists, has played a large part in shaping most international art movements since the 1940s. As part of the Forma group with Piero Consagra, she influenced American expressionists such as Pollock and Tobey. The 1950s were an era of non-figurative painting, and her art since this period has focused principally on colour experimentation, encompassing plastics and canvas work. This book reveals the artists and her work.
