These both fit in really well with our preschool stuff right along with the rhythm and rhyme of Go, Dog, Go! and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and all those other fun and ridiculously silly reads. The illustrations are definitely where the funky comes in my opinion but it is a good way. There is plenty to stare at and in our reading, my preschooler, now kindergarten was sure to point things out on every page. I think this is one that you could read again and again and find something new each and every time.
The text is great. Plenty of rhyme and rhythm through out and the words chosen are great for an early reader. My Kindergarten child can read this one alone with very limited help. So bright and brilliant, this is not necessarily a bedtime book or it might stimulate the child's mind too much, but this is a look and then later comeback and take another look book. While I enjoyed Cars Galore as a board book, I think I like the picture book size I'm experience of Toys Galore better with so much action on each and every page.
It's all about imagination!
