The Schofield & Sims Progress Papers provide rigorous all-round practice for the end of Key Stage 2, and may also be suitable for some younger and older children. The series is designed for use as revision or extension work, or as preparation for the 11+ examinations, including those set by CEM (Durham University) and GL Assessment. The papers are intended for children to work through systematically with an adult who can provide assistance and diagnose key issues. Covering the 10 most common non-verbal reasoning question types, the Progress Papers in Non-verbal Reasoning develop children's logic, deduction, geometry, spatial awareness and problem solving skills. Questions increase in difficulty, providing a clear measure of progress. Every book includes seven papers, each containing 50 questions, with a total of 50 marks available per paper. A double-page spread of worked Example questions appears at the front of each book, illustrating how to complete each type of question. Pull-out answers make scoring easy and include detailed explanations, colour-coded pictures and advice for adult helpers. The total mark per paper can be turned into a percentage result and added to the Progress chart at the back of the book following marking.
The following question types are featured in Progress Papers in Non-verbal Reasoning 2: nets of cubes, matrices, codes, similarities, hidden pictures, reflected pictures, combined pictures, series, analogies and odd ones out.
