This study analyzes the way management practice and organizational culture have changed in East Germany as it has become unified with West Germany. It employs classic management theory and includes comparisons of management styles throughout Europe and their varying degrees of success within the transformation of East Germany. The study looks at such issues as the structures of companies, the new management cultures, labour and human resource problems, privatization, entrepreneurship and finance - placing it all within the context of change in everyday life. It concludes with an exploration of who wins and who loses in the "new Germany".
