This book, along with its companion volume "Profitable Retailing", is intended as a total learning resource for BTEC, City & Guilds and RSA courses in retailing. The subject is retailing and the people who are connected - customers, staff, manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors. The book is divided into four parts. Part one deals with the relationship between people who work in retailing and their customers, part two explains how the whole distribution industry works to get the goods to its customers, part three illustrates how the industry lets its customers know what it has to sell and part four looks at the relationship between the employers and the employed. At the end of each part there is an assignment in which skills and knowledge can be prastised.
