This is the story of a young man who volunteers to join the Marine Corps and is sent to fight in the Vietnam war in 1968. Trained to be a tactical air control man, he experiences horrific combat and is left with vivid memories of the death of fellow Marines. After returning home he endures years of post traumatic stress disorder, nightmares, the haunted memories of lost friends, and difficulties fitting in. After 20 years of torment, he comes full circle and finally gets the 'Welcome home' he so often longed for.
