This book was fantastic! I was so glad I was given the opportunity to read it. The sequel, Settling, was released today, July 4, and I can’t wait to get my hands on that one. Workinger is an amazing author. Her voice works well with her story and her characters.
Clio, the main character, was such an outstanding, prefect character. She was relatable and at times I felt that I was the one at Camp Solidity in Clio’s stead. She was determined and headstrong as well, which is a plus because I’m all about the awesome girl power. Jack was mysterious. I loved the relationship he had with Clio; it was so cute. However, Jack was a character that I didn’t know how to place him in my mind. He didn’t belong to any one group of the camp and he seemed to know more than he let on at times. It was strange and something I’m sure that will be touched upon in later books in the series. Garrett was your typical jock, but didn’t come off as clichéd. It seemed that there was more to him that met the eye. Miranda was a pain, at first she was annoying which was why I really didn’t like her that much. She did get better by the end, but I still couldn’t get rid of the annoying Miranda from the beginning from my mind. Bliss was the best friend. She was forgettable, but loyal. She was shy and not very confident which I found I liked in her character. It worked well and it was relatable.
Solid is truly something special; it is action-packed and never one dull moment. As soon as I read the first page, I was hooked and couldn’t stop until finished. The climax of the story was shocking and beautifully written. If this story had a soundtrack, the music would surely make your heart thump as it did mine and take you on a fantastic journey. If you haven’t read this one yet, you are definitely missing out. Solid has a little bit for everyone and I highly recommend it!
