This course is designed for engineers, engineering managers and technicians interested in the applicatoins of Electronic Workbench simulation for analysis and design of microelectronics circuits. The author introduces the characteristics and biasing techniques of semiconductor devices such as diodes, op-amps, MOSFETs, JFETs and BJTs. Applications of op-amps are also covered through design examples of op-amp circuits. The analysis and design of electronics circuits are emphasized and verified by Electronics Workbench software. There are also 15 design projects assigned to the course. A degree in engineering, engineering technology or equivalent experience is required. Some knowledge of basic electronic circuits and personal computers, including DOS commands and Windows operation, is also required. To take full advantage of the course, access to a PC to run Electronics Workbench simulation software is highly recommended.
Topics covered include: a working knowledge of the industry standard software, Electronics Workbench (EWB); techniques for simulating microelectronics circuits using EWB; advanced EWB commands; laboratory skills for building and testing microelectronics circuits; and analysis and performance evaluation of microelectronics circuits.
