Statues of Buddhas are a source of profound blessings for the people of this world. When people simply look at a statue, Buddha will bless their minds and sow the seeds of virtue and future happiness. For Buddhists, one of the commitments of going for refuge is to regard any image of a Buddha as an actual Buddha. It is therefore important that statues, stupas and so forth are properly prepared and filled correctly. Filling statues in this special way is a very beautiful spiritual activity that creates the cause to become 'filled with realizations'. If we fill a statue correctly we accumulate merit for as long as the statue exists. This booklet gives general guidelines on how to fill both large and small statues, as well as stupas, according to the Kadampa tradition. Those who are sincerely interested in learning these techniques are strongly encouraged to both learn the instructions and to train with others who are qualified in this practice. The booklet also includes a CD with mantra sheets, as well as demonstration videos showing how to roll mantras and additional instructions on how to fill large statues.
