I married and moved in with my husband AFTER the honeymoon.
In this day and age, that seems to be quite unusual. It also seems to me that engagements happen because of lease agreements and convenience rather than committing yourself to the best man or woman for you. Sure, there can be ups and downs from not living together before marriage, but, there seems to be way more ups and downs from couples expecting change when they get married. Why would you expect the person who is messy while engaged, all of a sudden become clean and considerate after the marriage vows? Also, a fiance with a wandering eye probably still has a wandering eye after the ring's on his finger...ALCOHOL IS NOT AN EXCUSE!!
Sorry, now that I have that off my chest...
I really enjoyed reading Undercover Love and read it in one sitting. The characters were interesting, the storyline kept me captivated and the hero was HOT!!! Lucy Score tells a great story. I loved that while she brought things that would normally have me running for the hills, she still managed to keep me captivated. Yes, there were a few eye-twitches, but a quick scan ahead put my mind at ease that Ms Score...just wouldn't go there.
While I really enjoyed this story, I have to admit that I thought the heroine was a bit of a twit. How could she be so oblivious to her fiance's faults and settle for such a lack-lustre relationship? I couldn't even understand the couple's original attraction and chemistry. It seemed impossible to believe that she could have ever loved him, especially considering her friends and family detested him.
Undercover Love was a great story that left me completely satisfied. Yes, I stumbled a few times but it never went past my boundaries of acceptance. There were a few moments towards the end where I questioned my undying loyalty towards the hero, but it was all OK in the end. He is just an awesome bloke...who happens to have money, good looks, is considerate in the bedroom, and a very nice cabin. A little *Fairy-Tale Prince* but who doesn't love a dashing and devoted hero? At least he wasn't perfect...
I definitely recommend Undercover Love if you haven't read it before in the older versions.
The covers of the older versions are on Goodreads, and I think one version may have even been called something different.
