I didn't know what to expect when I began this book. As it started I kind of rolled my eyes a bit: girl having a terrible day, then finding out her best friend and boyfriend are having an affair behind her back. But, as the book went on I realized there were so many things I LOVED about it. First, I love that Alina and Ryan became friends first. They supported each other and cared for each other. Even when they both began to admit their feelings, things moved slowly. So often in books now they start off having sex, then become friends later. Now, don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with that; but it was nice to see a friends to lovers story. This relationship progressed like the relationships I have had so it felt very real. The tension in the story comes not from the will they/won't they as much as it comes from the WHEN will they. The end is slightly rushed though; perhaps I feel that way because I could read a whole series about Alina and Ryan and never get tired of their sweet, romantic ways.
