Since 1980, Shin Takamatsu has become one of Japan's leading architects. His office has completed more than 100 buildings including Kirin Plaza in Osaka, Syntax, Origin and Ark in Kyoto and the Messe Conference Centre in Shimane. Takamatsu and Lahyani Architects Associates was formed in 1991 in Berlin as a collaboration between Shin Takamatsu Architects and Associates of Kyoto and Lahyani Architects Associates of Geneva. Since then the firm has been working on many projects in Germany and other European countries, including Quasar at Frankfurter Allee in Berlin (completed 1933), the Lennepark centre project in Dresden and Biedermannstrabe project in Leipzig.
