Inspired by happy days by the sea and in the countryside, both during the summer and at Christmas, the cross-stitch and needlepoint designs in this book reflect the charm of a more innocent age. The projects fall into four main themes - seaside, farmyard, country flowers and Christmas. Although some large projects are included, such as cushions and pictures, to attract the more experienced needlewoman, there are also many small items such as bookmarks, greetings cards and paperweights, which beginners can undertake with confidence. They are all illustrated with a colour photograph of the finished item, and a straightforward stitch-chart. Altogether there are more than 50 projects.
