For ease of reference the book has been laid out in six areas, each of which is further divided into months and weeks. The areas covered are; Propagation The Ornamental Garden The Vegetable Garden The Fruit Garden Growing under Glass Miscellaneous tasks. The book is not an 'in depth' information package on gardening, it is more like a calendar to remind the gardener when to carry out certain tasks. Put another way it is a summary of tasks that the writer has recorded in his diaries since 1986 which he thinks could be useful to inexperienced gardeners (novices).
