This is an Erotic Romance. It begins with a woman, Suzanne Nelson, coming to New York City for law school. She is a Californian who is a lesbian, but has never come out to anyone. Until she does to Kerry Neally, a New Yorker she meets in law school.
They develop a special relationship. Suzanne, though, must convince her parents to accept her. The story deals with the issues her parents, William and Kate Nelson, have about their daughter's orientation. As they did with William's sister, Mary, who was disowned by their parents.
The story also includes their parents. Eileen Neally is a widow and begins to look again for love. She must choose between two men.
As with any family, there are highs and lows.
