Basically, I was curious. Erotica is hit or miss for me, but I've never read a M/M erotica before. So when I won Do Me, Tonight on audio by Jamie Lake, I figured it was the perfect opportunity to get my feet wet. And it wasn't bad. It didn't blow me away, but it was okay.
I think one of my biggest problems with Do Me, Tonight was actually more the general problem I often have with shorts than because it was M/M - it was way too fast. And in an erotica it kind of intensifies the problem because one second the guys meet and the next, they're getting busy. But I do have to give Jamie Lake credit - it wasn't THAT instantaneous. We have four chapters total in Do Me, Tonight and it wasn't until the fourth chapter until things really happened.
But I saw potential in this and I think I could actually end up really enjoying M/M erotica if it's full length and has a solid story (as with all erotica, I don't like it as much when it's JUST sex). I think my enjoyment of Do Me, Tonight was increased by the narration - the voices were pretty good and varied. I think, if it were longer, I would have gotten pretty comfortable with Keanu Vincente.
All-in-all, not a bad first time venture into a new-to-me genre. I probably won't be reading bunches of M/M erotica but I won't avoid it anymore either.
