If you take a closer look at the disciples, you'll see a group of men who didn't always get it, who wanted to promote their own interests, who couldn't get on with each other - and who ran away when things got dangerous. So why did Jesus pick them? Well, perhaps God only works with flawed humanity because that's the only kind there is.
We can learn from the disciples' mistakes. Even better, we can be encouraged by the fact that they all went on to take their faith across the world. So let's learn from Jesus' original team of supporters, and take heart from the fact that Jesus can do great things with the most unlikely material.
