Teenage Delirium is a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age novel, it exemplifies the various pressures put on young men by both their peers and society as a whole. John Duggan, the main character, lives his life on the fringe of society and as a penance he must battle with addiction, women, school troubles and toxic friendships.
The story is brutally honest and chronicles the life of a young man through unchartered territories where he has no one to rely on, as he says "... our friend group were only friends in the sense that we all drank too much and took dangerous combinations of drugs."
Throughout this book you'll find humour, peaks and troughs. It's a read that's hard to put down and you don't know what's around the next corner.
