A tribute to a man who, throughout both his public and private life, was an example and teacher of human truth. This work does not intend to figure in the traditional culinary arts, nor to include the regal figure of Joseph Beuys in the "Eat Art" movement. A German master, he was a significant personality of the international art world in the post-war era. The author has formulated no concept of judgement, and instead she has made use of two singular aspects of Beuysian thought: reappropriation and open creativity. These attitudes found a clear answer through the enture life's work of the artist. Transcripts of two conversations with Joseph Beuys himself, held in 1984 and 1978 respectively, are contained within this volume.
