This volume presents the most recent work of an architect who has "at last achieved cult status" (Stuttgarter Zeitung) with his exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art -- and whose projects have garnered international attention and awards. During daytime Zumthor's new Kunsthaus in Bregenz gives the impression of a semi-transparent glass body, and at night it becomes a highly visible cube -- a statement in light. The interior of the building is constructed in smooth concrete, terrazo, matt glass and indirect, virtually natural light.
