It is amazing how something as small as a black Labrador puppy can affect the lives of people, by virtually bringing them together in a world so big that the chance of them ever meeting is so slim that you could pass it through the eye of a needle. This story begins with Erica, a college student, that heads to Newport Beach, California every summer to work as a nanny. Sadly, the fourth summer finds the couple childless thanks to cancer but now they are trying to relieve some of their grief by adopting a black labrador puppy. That summer brings many changes and new relationships.
