The Romans in Britain is one of the topics in the new Cambridge Primary History course, which has been specially written for the post-Dearing history curriculum at key stage 2. The Romans in Britain Pupil's Book has been written for Study Unit 1. It focuses on how much the Romans changed Britain, and introduces pupils to the differences between Roman and Celtic society; the Roman invasion of Britain and the Celtic response and resistance; the Roman Army and its influence; the everyday life of different people, both Roman and Celtic; Roman culture; and the end of Roman rule and its legacy. Pupils are shown how to use and interpret sources and introduced to the importance of archaeology and the use of historic sites and artefacts.
