In the last decade, the refrigeration, airconditioning and heat pump industries, have made tremendous technical progress in complying with the Montreal Protocol by phasing out chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). This Report of the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps Technical Options Committee (RTOC) 2002, provides a current status of the efforts by the refrigeration industry to reduce its production of ozone depleting substances. It reveals the goals that still need to be achieved and proposes actions for the way forward.
