Set towards the end of the Spanish Civil War, this play tells the story of two members of the International Brigade, captured by Franco's forces and thrown into a cell together. From very different backgrounds, one privileged upper class English and one working class Glasgow, their initial antipathy to each other grows, in adversity, into a strong supportive friendship as they relate their life stories to each other. Meanwhile their mothers, equally different, relate their feelings to the audience: the eternal anguish of mothers who have seen their children go off to war. Came second (in its division) of the SCDA One Act Festival 2007.
