May, 1994, Birmingham. For John Cabot-Smith life is good. His career is going well, he has a comfortable home, a stable marriage and two young children - but then during a dinner party he answers the telephone, and a voice at the other end of the line says: 'They've found the body'. Reasoning that no one will be able to link him to a crime committed over twenty years ago John lies to his wife about the nature of the call...but one lie soon leads to another because the very next day he receives an anonymous card inviting him to a Come as You Were party: Get out the flares and the old 45's and relive the summer of '73. Is it coincidence, a sick joke, or a warning from someone who knows what happened all those years ago? Fearing that his past might just be about to catch up with him John follows up the invitation- a decision which leads him into a world of ex-girlfriends, old enemies and mysterious communications, where nothing is what is seems - and another murder waits around the corner.
