'Convergence' is an anthological project in which a number of titled compilations of aphorisms and/or maxims deriving from prior publications and independent volumes have been combined into a quasi-cyclical work the contents of which, dating from 1977-84, signify a comparatively early stage in John O'Loughlin's philosophical development, during which the ideological philosophy of Social Transcendentalism was germinating and only beginning to extend towards the light of metaphysical certitude that was to subsequently ensue with his mature aphoristic writings. The cover shows a photo, taken by the author himself in 2010, of people browsing outside Charlie Byrne's Bookshop in a Galway shopping mall.
