This joke book takes as its framework the cumulative nursery song that starts "I know an old lady who swallowed a fly". Successive double-page spreads thus feature jokes on flies, spiders, birds, cats, dogs, goats, cows and horses. The book goes on to extend the the song beyond its normal end.
