“Momo” (aka “The Grey Gentlemen” or “The Men in Grey”) is my 2nd favorite book of his that has landed itself a cozy home on my bookshelf. This also has an English movie adaptation that was produced in 1986, in which Michael Ende himself played a small role as the narrator. The book is still better, but the movie follows fairly well compared to most.

Ende writes a beautiful tale of Momo and how she unlocks the secrets of time to save those that she loves. There’s a lot of underlying meaning here; a classic worth reading.

I adored the creativity in Michael Ende’s books during my childhood years but I also have an abundance of appreciation for his work as an adult today. Im still fascinated that no matter how many time I read these books - I still walk away with something to ponder. 🤔

This book is absolutely amazing.

As a child, it can be very frustrating when adults don't have time. I think this is still very unfortunately; parents are constantly busy with their smartphones and tablets and don't live in the present. This book was published in 1988, but is (unfortunately) still very relevant.

It felt like this book was written a long time ago. Not that I minded it, it was just something that took a little getting used to. If you have a child, you should definitely read this book to them, because it'll be great for that.

I bought this book for what would be around $1. So worth it! This is a new favorite of mine, and even made it to my top ten of 2013!
This story will stay with me for a long time. It's simple, yet deep and will be good for any age.

Al leer este libro y pensar en que se baso Ende al escribirlo, me doy cuenta cuánta razón hay. Pues al ritmo en el que va la sociedad actual llegará el día en que no nos quedará tiempo para absolutamente nada, todo lo realizaremos "a la carrera", en el menor tiempo posible y cuando sintamos el día se acabo y no disfrutamos nada.
Este libro es uno de mis favoritos, sus personajes son muy buenos, sólidos y dejan un buen mensaje. En cada uno de esos personajes creo que podemos ver en ellos a la gente a nuestro alrededor.
Momo: esa niña que sabe escuchar a los demás, que dedica tiempo a las cosas bellas de la vida, como es compartir con la familia, amigos, etc. Y también nos deja el mensaje que no importa tu condición, ¡tu puedes aportar amor a los demás!
Gigi: Él es el tipo de personas que siempre nos hace reír, que está ahí siempre, pero es un tanto superficial, se puede hacer que cambie muy fácilmente.
Beppo: Es del tipo de gente que vive la vida tal y cómo es, piensa detenidamente sus actos pero eso le impide avanzar. Es de los que se quedan estancado en el mismo lugar y si nadie llega y le convence de que las cosas pueden ser de otra manera... seguirá así por siempre
Los Hombres Grises: Ellos son todas esas cosas que nos "quitan el tiempo", el trabajo, las responsabilidades, las preocupaciones, etc. etc. Todo eso que hace que nuestro tiempo se vaya como agua entre los dedos.
En fin, es una muy buena historia, con un muy buen mensaje. Muy recomendable.
