This is the story of Wilfred Rodbourne who emigrated to Canada and joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force in March 1915 and returned to England in November 1915 before going out to France in August 1916. He was involved in some hard fighting including the Battles of Vimy Ridge, Arleux and Fresnoy in 1917. He returned to Canada in 1919 and lived with his wife Dorothy Kennedy (who he married in August 1915) in Vancouver. He was joined by his niece, Doris Poxon, aged 10 in 1931. Doris married three times and became a naturalised American citizen. Wilfred died in Vancouver in 1983 and Doris died in Seattle in 1997.
