I am such a fan of Ryan Dean and Winger, I thought I would check out some more of Smith's work. This one was odd, but interesting. I sort of knew I was in for an odd ride, when I learned how Finn's mom died, but it was an odd ride I rather enjoyed.
I loved Finn's voice. It was clear and brutally honest. His observations were often hilarious, and my amusement was only augmented when Cade was on page. Cade was quite the character. He was crass and brash, but he was also Finn's oldest and best friend. They really understood each other and genuinely loved each other. I think their friendship was one of the highlights of the book for me. The other was the rather adorable romance that finds Finn.
Overall: An oddly entertaining story of friendship, family, and first love.
