This book focuses on Tom, John's former wingman and Whidbey's resident playboy, and Hailey, his sister's best friend, and a headstrong woman who challenges him.
I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The confessions at the beginning of each chapter delightfully gave me the full picture of Tom. Yes, Tom was a manwhore, but he also was honest, loyal, respectful, and a family guy at heart. I appreciated that Prescott made him a decent guy, even if he was not relationship orientated. Getting to watch him change and grow during the course of this story was quite gratifying.
Hailey was a great heroine. She was a very strong and smart female, who could hold her own. I loved her interactions with Tom, and thought they had great chemistry. She asserted what she wanted, but also gave a lot in return and knew when to compromise.
I also loved Tom's great big family. The scenes with his family was very real and very heartwarming. I liked them so much I cried (happy and sad) tears for them.
I am also a fan of this group of people. I love revisiting old friends, and it was great to catch up with John and Diane.
Overall: lots of fun with lots of heart.
