Overall, I enjoyed this story. I did guess the big plot twist. I saw that coming from a mile away, but it not lessen its impact. I felt bad and my heart hurt every time it came up. I really liked the way Friedman handled the parallel stories. It made me think some really deep thoughts, that I cannot discuss, because it would reveal too much.

Some of my thoughts while I was listening:
-I can't believe Ruby just said that
-WTH Ruby!
-Ruby is THE WORST!

So, I was not a big fan of Ruby's. I thought she handled things poorly, and was a selfish twit. I think Friedman tried to give everyone an opportunity to redeem themselves towards the end, and I was happy with how she left it between Ruby and Summer, but I cannot muster any good will towards Ruby.

So this didn't really work for me. It had a fantastic premise and I love books that split off into two diverging plots (Pivot Point by Kasie West is amazing) but here there was literally no point to the two plots because they all seemed to end up in the same place, with the same results?

I was just bored. I didn't want to pick the book back up and Summer was a very immature 15-year-old.
