So, this wasn't a horrible book. It's overwritten a bit but that's not a terrible crime. It's definitely not like the sort of ridiculously stupid or offensive book that I usually DNF.
I just didn't like either of the main characters. Two chapters in, which maybe isn't fair. I was ok not really liking Annalisa because I figured I'd like Carl. But no. He's spoiled and entitled (literally) and the weak younger son who in most stories doesn't get the girl. Each character has flaws for them to overcome, I get it. But I want to enjoy reading about them along the way and I just wasn't interested in anything that happened to either of these characters along the way to their inevitable happily ever after.
