The story of Tom, an obsessive Englishman who is in France researching stories of sudden deaths; he is sure that he can raise public awareness and save people from exploding vacuum cleaners and high risk kitchen zones. It is also the story of Sandrine, a French woman who falls in love with Tom. She pursues him to Paris where he plans to take his life in a staged sudden death accident to promote his message for the greater good. Tunnel Vision is narrated in turns by Tom in a literary style and from the point of view of Sandrine in a romantic manner. There is a dramatic conclusion in Paris where Tom, Sandrine, her ex-boyfriend Pierre-Yves and her friend Helene the Ant (a kickboxing celebrity) meet in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. This story will be of special interest to writers and readers of broadly entertaining contemporary fiction; the clash of romantic and literary forms is a central theme. Is one superior to the other?
