My first Adele Parks novel and most certainly not my last! I happened upon this on NetGalley by chance, when browsing Psych Thrillers. When I read the description I knew I had to have it. I’m glad I did because wow! I read this in less than 24 hours! It was just that good.

Melanie’s character was a little iffy for me at first. She seemed kinda dull. But, the more I read, the more I was glad to get to know her character. Abigail, on the other, is one I loved to hate. I loved her so much for her role but I hated her so much, too. I love those kinds of characters.

The plot line was the best. Just when I thought I had it figured out, Parks would throw in something that left me jaw dropped and rethinking my own steps while reading this book. By the end, though, I was so glad with the gripping twists that she threw her readers!

This is definitely a keeper for me. Four stars, two thumbs and high praises to this new-to-me author. I am absolutely looking forward to going back and reading more of work. Well done, Ms. Parks!

Mel and Abi, friends from way-way back, one in need and now their friendship is back in the forefront. Chalk and cheese is the best description I can think of. Mel, the mum, the one with a happy life and marriage with a family. Abi, leading a glamourous hi-life until she was betrayed by her partner.

Yes as you guessed it, some people should NOT be invited into your house. Unless you feel that walking round in a towel parading around half naked is appropriate, whatever floats your boat.

Although this is a piece of fiction, the writing has made it quite a realistic one, putting you in a position, would you trust your friend? What would you stand for? Why are women always out to “get” other women? So many questions you will have with this book, and the frustrations you bear due to the actions of the characters! Some people need an appropriate backhander.

Secrets and betrayals are in the forefront of this book, and making you wonder what would you do? But the story is told from two points of view so is everything so clear cut?

Ms Parks has created two women where you have such an opinion of them and their actions. They have been fleshed out that they could be your friend, if you wanted them to be of course.

This is an entertaining read, you know where you are going with this book, and it keeps you turning the pages over…but seriously what would you do in their position?
