The true story of a young kid from rural Kansas who writes a musical right after high school. He dreams to be the next young genius of Broadway and to make a name for himself. Despite his best attempts, his magnum opus turns out to be a complete disaster marred with poor acting, horrible lyrics, and the eventual collapse of the performance. However, he is soon invited to meet his mentor, Broadway legend Stephen Schwartz, in order to redeem himself.
