I just loved whole story, fell in love with Caleb (swoon!), Ellen and her son, Henry- so adorable! Ruthie makes her stories so real, the right emotions, the whole situation so believable you can relate to the characters and what they go through. Characters have flaws and strengths like real people and she manages to have humor, anger, love and all the feelings to make you turning each page until the end. I mentioned to a friend that I find this new (author) discovery quite addictive. While Ruthie does pack some very steamy scenes for my taste, I can't stop reading her books, because the quality of her work is just so great, it's hard to resist! She also has me looking up one or three vocabulary words which adds to my reading experience. 4.5♥
3.5 Along Came Trouble gives us Ellen Callahan's love story with a side romance regarding her pop star brother that was sweet and romantic. The tales take place in Camelot, Ohio and offer us realistic romance with a little humor, sweet moments and a touch of drama. Fans of Stacey Shannon's Kowalski series should enjoy Ruthie Knox. There is some heat, but the romance builds slowly and feels genuine. Poor Ellen thinks she's taking on a boy toy, and watching her realize Caleb was offering a whole lot more was fun. I love military men, and Caleb is a smexy good guy. He cares about his parents and sister and watching Ellen keep him off guard was delightful. Filled with banter, some snarky-ness and touching moments Along Came Trouble offered me a delightful escape. Flirting with Disaster is the next book and will share Caleb's sister; Katie Clark's story. It is scheduled to release in June. This is my first time reading Ruthie Knox and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Along Came Trouble is a funny, entertaining contemporary romantic read set in Camelot, Ohio. It’s the second book in the Camelot series. The story was told from several points of views which enabled me to have a better understanding of what each character was feeling and as a result allowed me to be better able to relate to each of them. The author introduces us to Ellen Callahan who is the main female character. She is a divorcee, a single mom and the twin sister of the famous rock star, Jamie Callahan. Her brother had become intimately involved with her neighbor, Carly, which led to the media descending on the small town of Camelot. Caleb, the main male character who is absolutely hot and delicious was hired to protect both Ellen and Carly. Initially, Ellen got on my nerves. I thought she was being a bit petty when she refused to allow Caleb to what needed so that he could effectively carry out the task he was hired to do. However, after a while the reasons for her behavior became clear. She had been a very bad relationship, one that was controlling and abusive. As such she was resentful of any man who appeared as if they were to take charge of her life. She was stubborn and feisty and hell-bent on proving that she was self-sufficient. I absolutely loved Caleb. He was a strong, but sweet. He had great respect for women which endeared me to him. His attraction to Ellen was instantaneous. Caleb was not without his own issues. I loved the way the author developed the relationship between Ellen and Caleb. The chemistry between them was strong, even though Ellen tried her best to deny her feelings. It took a while for her to actually accept that she was falling in love with Caleb. I was happy to see that they were both able to work out their issues which allowed them to be together without any unnecessary baggage. The sex scenes were hot and sizzling and tastefully written. The supporting cast was great. I loved Jamie and Carly’s story. The romance between these two was sweet. It does not distract readers from the main story. I do believe that these two deserve a story of their own where their relationship can be better developed. The story was true to life and it held my interest from the beginning. It was a very easy read and difficult to put down. There were moments when I was laughing at the antics of the characters. There were times when I felt like bashing them over the head due to their stubbornness. The way the author described the scenes made me feel as if I was a part of the story. It flowed beautifully from beginning to end. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more from this author. This is a must read for fans of Ruthie Knox. Thanks to Netgalley and Loveswept for the opportunity to read this book.
